The Phillies are planning on having one of the biggest free agents in baseball to town this week -- the question is, will he be leaving without a deal?

According to an NBC Sports report, the Phillies are having Manny Machado to town on Thursday this week for a visit. The visit is reportedly the third one he will make this week, and the last one on his tour, as he will also be in Chicago and New York for visits with the White Sox and Yankees.

Per NBC Sports' Jim Salisbury:

The Phillies have strong interest in signing Machado to be their third baseman. However, landing Machado will not be easy as the player has had a long desire to play for the Yankees. The Yankees could even offer Machado a chance to play shortstop, at least for part of the 2019 season, as Didi Gregorius recovers from elbow surgery. Machado is an elite defensive third baseman, but shortstop is his favorite position.

If Machado does make it to Philadelphia, and gets out of New York without a deal, you have to wonder if the Phillies will be able to close the deal during his visit. Both the ownership and front office have been clear that they are willing to spend this offseason to land elite talent. Although he might not be the caliber of play Bryce Harper is, Machado is pretty close, and would be a difference maker for the Phillies.

After weeks of speculation and reports, it seems like Phillies' fans might be finally about to get their answer on if their team will be able to sign one of the premier free agents available.
