The Eagles’ best receiver is going to be on the sideline for two weeks.

That is the latest on DeSean Jackson, according to an ESPN report, news that is not good for an Eagles’ offense that has struggled so far this season. Jackson will be sidelined with an abdominal injury, one that kept him on the sideline for the majority of the team’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

One of the more interesting parts of the report is that one doctor recommended Jackson have surgery for the injury, which would have sidelined him up to six weeks. While Jackson is opting against surgery, it is fair to wonder if this is an injury that will bother him all season, or at least up until he eventually gets surgery.

For now, however, it looks like the Eagles will be without Jackson for their game against the Detroit Lions this Sunday, as well as their game in Green Bay on Thursday Night Football just four days later.

In addition to Jackson it is possible the Eagles are also without receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf) and tight end Dallas Goedert (calf) as well this Sunday.
