Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills was arrested in Washington D.C. on Saturday night following an altercation with Washington Wizards player Devin Robinson, according to a report from NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Mills was reportedly arrested on Saturday night, paid a small fee ands was released, according to the report. At this point it is not clear what caused the altercation between the two.

The Eagles released the following statement on the incident:

“The Philadelphia Eagles are aware if the situation involving defensive back Jalen Mills and are continuing to gather more information. No further comment will be provided at this time.”

The Wizards, who were clearly upset with Robinson,  released the following statement:

“We are aware of the incident this morning involving Devin and are disappointed in his actions. We will not extend a qualifying offer to him for the 2019-20 season.”

The Eagles open OTAs on April 15th, and although Mills is currently dealing with a foot injury, he will likely be in attendance and will have to address the incident.

Although it is very unlikely the Eagles will be moving on from Mills because of the altercation, it is likely the NFL will be looking into it, and it is possible it could result in a suspension to start the season.

Mills having to potentially sit out the first game of the season would be less than ideal for the Eagles, considering their other projected started cornerback — Ronald Darby — is still recovering from an ACL tear that ended his 2018 season.

Mills has yet to release a statement on the incident.
