The NFL has released a statement following Howard Eskin's report of a deflated football.

"All footballs were in compliance with NFL rules following the pregame inspection process and all proper procedures were followed," NFL vice president of football communications Michael Signora said in a statement via "In the third quarter, a football that was found to be defective was removed from play, will be sent back to Wilson for review."

Eskin reported a football was deflated during the Steelers-Eagles preseason game.

Eskin joined the 94WIP Morning Show on Friday.

"I was three yards away from it," Eskin—the Eagles' radio sideline reporter on 94WIP—said of the deflated football that ended up out of bounds. "So the ball boy comes over, picks up the football, and he squeezes. I looked like he was squeezing a marshmallow. It was so deflated. This was more than a little deflated. The next thing I knew, the NFL was checking the football.
