Kapler reaffirms reliever strategy: No set closer

Other than Seranthony Dominguez, clearly the Phillies' best relief pitcher, the Philadelphia bullpen has been struggling (3.91 bullpen ERA, 17th in MLB). Last night, Dominguez was forced to enter the game after the Phillies were stuck in a bases-loaded no-out jam, clinging on to a three-run lead in the top of the 9th.

Dominguez, despite throwing 41 pitches in 2.0 innings of work on Monday, came in and allowed one hit and the Phils escaped with a 5-4 win. 

Gabe Kapler continues to reaffirm his strategy of not using Dominguez as a closer. 

Kapler also had an interesting take on the nature of a slump in baseball, something a few of his hitters are experiencing.
