While the MLB and MLBPA negotiate a plan in the public view, behind closed doors Philadelphia Phillies managing partner John Middleton is expressing concern.

In an email to full-time employees on Monday, Middleton "projected losses of 'substantially more than $100 million' in 2020" and announced salary cuts for anyone on the business or baseball side of the organization who was going to make at least $90,000, according to Scott Lauber.

Middleton also informed employees he would forego his salary for the remainder of the year.

On Monday, the owners compromised to pay players their full prorated share of salaries but also suggested a significantly shorter season. MLB believes they have the right to implement a 50-game range season, according to Jeff Passan.

Joe Giglio was on the Morning Show on Tuesday discussing the return of baseball and the Phillies.
