Markelle Fultz is scheduled to see a shoulder specialist at the direction of his agent Raymond Brothers, according to David Aldridge (Aldridge wrote "attorney" in the tweet). Fultz will be out until he sees the specialist, reportedly scheduled for some time next week.

Elton Brand confirmed the report on Tuesday afternoon, explaining that it was Brothers' decision to have Fultz sit out until he sees a shoulder specialist.

However, according to Keith Pompey, Fultz worked out with his teammates on Tuesday anyway!

This is just getting weird.

Fultz played just seven minutes on Monday night, scoring zero points and recording three fouls. He was replaced by TJ McConnell and just looked completely lost. So clearly this move looks like the agent protecting his client, anticipating him heading to the bench for the foreseeable future.

Fultz, 20, was the Sixers' No. 1 overall pick in 2017. Former GM Bryan Colangelo traded the No. 3 overall pick and the Kings' 2019 pick to move up for Fultz.

Fultz played just 14 games as a rookie due to a reported shoulder injury. This season, Fultz supposedly fixed his shot in the summer with trainer Drew Hanlen, but continued to struggle once the season began. Fultz is averaging 8.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 22.5 minutes per game this season. He's shooting 41.9% from the field, 28.6% from three, and 56.8% from the line.
