The Phillies clearly need some pitching help. The most recent name they're after? Mike Minor.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Phillies and Mets are "showing strong interest" in the Rangers' left-handed ace.

Minor, 31, is off to an excellent start in 2019, allowing just eight earned runs in four starts. Minor pitched a three-hit complete game shutout on Tuesday and is 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA this season.

Minor is owed $9.5 million for 2019 and 2020, per Nightengale.

With a rotation filled with right-handers, the Phillies could really use Minor. Craig Kimbrel and Dallas Keuchel are other available arms that have been linked to the Phillies.

The Phillies, according to Spotrac, have just under $17.5 million until they reach the luxury tax threshold.

On Tuesday, the Phillies optioned Nick Pivetta to the minors, bringing up Jerad Eickhoff.
