Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke, with the July 31st MLB trade deadline approaching, apparently has a lot of interest from MLB teams.

MLB.com's Andrew Simon listed 7 teams "who should go get Greinke," and has the Phillies second to the NL East leaders, the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves already beat the Phillies out for Dallas Keuchel, but Simon notes, the "Braves starters as a group still rank in the bottom half of the NL in ERA and FIP, and own the lowest strikeout-to-walk ratio, with Mike Foltynewicz having pitched himself back to Triple-A, Kevin Gausman struggling, and Max Fried currently on the IL."

According to NBCSportsPhiladelphia's Jim Salisbury, the Phillies have investigated about a Greinke trade.

"While the club might have to make some extra concessions to persuade Greinke, the need is obvious," Simon writes.

Greinke, 35, made his fifth all-star team this season. He's 10-4 with a 2.93 ERA in 21 starts with a 3.19 FIP, 0.948 WHIP, and a 7.24 strikeout/walk ratio.

Greinke, who is currently amid a six-year, $206.5 million contract, is owed the prorated portion of his $21 million salary for 2019, plus the rest of the final two years of the deal—which equals $112.5 millon through 2021. He can also block a trade to 15 teams.

The Phillies are currently 52-48, 7.5 games back of the Braves in the NL East, but just 0.5 game behind the Brewers for the second NL wildcard spot.
