Robert Covington has been picked on by the fan base for his poor play throughout the playoffs, but the Sixers' original Process player has been named to the NBA's 1st team all defensive lineup. Joel Embiid was named to the 2nd team.

Covington becomes the first Sixer since Dikembe Mutombo (2001) to be named to the all-NBA first defensive team.

Ben Simmons, who was the only NBA player to guard at least four positions for 20-percent of the time, received five 1st-team votes.

Cov led the NBA with 3.9 deflections per game this season.

Covington was an undrafted free agent signed by Sam Hinkie in 2013. Hinkie, on the Invest Like The Best podcast this week, talked about his love for Covington and other Sixers players.
