Listen to your team news NOW.

It will mark the third year in a row the Sixers have played on Christmas, but the first time they'll be the home team. In 2017, the Sixers won at the Knicks. Last season, the Celtics beat the Sixers 121-114 in overtime in Boston.

The Sixers' 2019 Christmas Day opponent is currently unknown and may not even be decided, due to the amount of shake up that is expected to take place this summer. Key NBA players like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker, Anthony Davis, and Tobias Harris could be changing teams before the 2019-20 season begins.

The Sixers will likely look to retain two of their aforementioned big free-agents in Butler and Harris, not to mention veteran leader JJ Redick, who is also a free-agent.

If I had to guess, I would assume the NBA would like to see a classic big market-rivalry matchup in Philly on Christmas, so potential opponents like the a rematch with the Celtics, the Knicks, or the Lakers all make plenty of sense. After this year's fiery first-round matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, you could throw them into the mix as well.
